After completing two sprint triathlon’s this summer I wanted to get a feel for what I might experience and expect from running an Ironman. Along with our IronTribe, we woke up at the crack of dawn to meet support Steph in Whistler.
Two and a half months ago I was walking down the Chicago airport with Steph Corker. To be more accurate – I was walking while she was hobbling beside me with a fat, grey boot over her recently fractured foot.
This past weekend, she swam, biked and ran through Ironman Whistler to finish in a little over 11 hours. Riding over 60km with the IronTribe, I witnessed the superhuman ability to withstand the brutality of endurance sports, camaraderie, and mental strength that is Ironman.
Huge congrats to Steph!
